Frequently Asked Questions Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How does The BlobEliminator work?
A.  It is a chemical and mechanical process.  Once the touch up paint has dried, The Blob Eliminator will resoften the paint, and the light rubbing mechanically begins to "smooth" down the exess paint, with the touch up paint now appearing on the cloth.

This process has been used to repair over 20,000,000 vehicles worldwide. It is a unique and proven chemical process that will safely remove excess touch up paint from the surface of clearcoat painted vehicles without affecting the original paint surface of your vehicle.

For Complete Directions for repairing Paint Chips and Deep Scratches, i.e., "keyed" vehicles see our Squeegie Technique.   For repairing clear coat scratches click here

Q. Will The BlobEliminator work on the touch up paint I put on my car some time ago?  A.  It depends on how long the "old"  touch up paint has been on the vehicle.  The BlobEliminator is only "guaranteed" to work on newly applied touch up paint as in our directions. However, it will most likely work on old touch up paint, just no guarantees. You'll just need to be sure the area is very clean since you will need to rub longer and use plenty of The BlobEliminator if you are going to attempt removing this old touch up paint.  We recommend you use The BlobEliminator  for repairing some new chips, to get a feel for what it does.  Once you have done that, then try it on the "old" touch up paint areas... just takes some elbow grease and a bit more rubbing time.

Q. Is this product guaranteed?
A. YES. If for any reason  The BlobEliminator does not remove the excess blob of paint that was applied up to 4 hours prior, Langka Corp will refund the cost of the product in full. .

Q. Will The BlobEliminator damage the clear coat surface on my car?
A. NO.  It is specifically prepared to only remove the applied touch up paint, and not affect the original manufacturers clear coat surface. However, on repainted surfaces, you should test it in an inconspicuous area i.e., lower panel below the door. Do not use on vehicles in the 50's and early 60's if they have the original manufactures paint on them.

Q. Can The BlobEliminator  be used on plastic bumpers or fiberglass?
A. Yes.  Any clear coat painted surface. (All vehicles since 1990 are clear coated at the manufacture)

Q. What about existing rust in the chips?
A. We suggest two things: Click Here

Q. How long will it take to get my order?
A. If ordered M-Th, will ship the following day. If ordered on Fri,Sat,Sun, it will ship on Monday. International shipments normally takes 10-14 days. USPS. Priority Mail is available upon request for USA customers.

Q. What is the shelf life of The BlobEliminator ?
A. Two years. We recommend you shake it well before using.

Q. Do I need to purchase anything else?
A. You will need to purchase the touch up paint that matches your car and get a smooth, tightly woven cloth (bed sheet, T-shirt, diaper). Your dealership or local auto parts supply store will have your paint color. If you don't know your paint code, Click here. Again, The BlobEliminator  is designed specifically for manufacturers touch up paint, not body shop paints (it will work, but it works very quickly...so let the paint dry longer).   If the paint chip is down to the metal, you may want to put a layer of Primer down first, then apply your touch up paint. We also provide other product on our web site that you may find helpful (fine tip brush, microbrushes, clear coat, paint sealant, etc).

Q. Is this repair permanent?
A. Absolutely! The paint may shrink over time, and you may have to repeat the process if this occurs.  The only precaution, as with any newly applied paint, is to not power wash or power buff the repaired areas for 10 days.

Q. How this technology been used before (is been proven to work) ?
A. Auto dealerships worldwide have used this type of repair process for the past 18 years. In the US alone, over 20 million cars have been repaired to increase their appearance and value.  The BlobEliminator  is the first professional product available for YOU using standard touch up paints, available at your auto dealership or most auto parts stores.

Q. Can I damage my car using The BlobEliminator ?
A. It will not affect OEM (original equipment manufacture) clear coat painted surfaces. We caution using on repainted vehicles or defective painted surfaces or vehicles model in the 1950-1965 that still have their original paint.

Q. How long will a 2oz. bottle normally last?
A. You can repair 20 to 30 chips per 2oz. bottle.

Q. Can I buy this locally?
A. The BlobEliminator  can only be purchased directly from this web site on our secure server OR call us directly at 509-747-3607 (M-F 9-4pmPST).

Q. What about metallic paints?
A. The BlobEliminator will remove the excess metallic and non-metallic excess paint (and other surface contaminents...road tar, tree sap, bug goo, etc.). In some cases, metallics have a tendancy to darken a bit. The reason is quite simple. You have to get enough metallic flakes in the chip to refract light, and that is a variable we cannot control. For best results, shake the paint very well to get the metallic flakes into solution before you apply the paint. NOTE:  We have developed a new Method for doing Metallic paints (this is the same process we recommend for doing scratches also.  It's called the "Squeegie" Method).  Click Here to view this method.  This seems to help greatly.  Clear coating the finished repair may be required to further enhance the shine. Click Here for more information on clear coating.

Q. What about scratches?
A. Scratches are just "long" chips. We recommend you allow the paint to dry at least 2-4 hours and then rub perpendicular to the scratch while removing the excess paint. Rub LIGHTLY as the paint has a tendancy to pull out of scratches. You will need to use more The BlobEliminator  and rub a little longer. Click here for detailed instructions , including our new Squeegie Method when doing deep scratches.

Q. Any special tips?
A. Allow paint to dry for 2 hours or longer (for scratches wait 2 to 4 hours). Use plenty of The BlobEliminator . Rub lighter as the excess paint begins to be removed. For a faster repair time (5 minutes), click here.

Q. What if the manufacturer provides the paint and the clear?
A. Click Here for clear coat specifics.

Q. What about using spray paint from those rattle cans?
A.  A lacquer based spray paint is preferred. It is a more durable paint chemistry for doing paint chips. If it is a non-lacquer based paint, see the next question.

Q. Will LANGKA work with NON-lacquer based paint like the paint my painter gave me when he painted the vehicle?
A. Yes, but again we recommend using manufacturers touch up paint. If you use this non-lacquer base body shop paint, let the paint dry for 2-3 days then do the LANGKA Process. Rub very lightly with The BlobEliminator .  You may need to put a clear coat layer over the touch up area in addition as these paints have a tendency to loose their glossy look.

Q. Is there a faster method for repairing these chips using The BlobEliminator?
A. Yes, we have developed a 5 minute repair process which many find to be the easiest method for fixing chips/scratches. Click here for the instructions.

Q. What if I don't remove the blob eliminator completely and I find a "haze" that won't come off of the vehicle surface?

A. The Blob Eliminator will remove this haze.  The reason for the haze is you did not clean up after you completed the repair.  You might have gone on to another chip to work on it and another one...and each time leaving behind some of the Blob Eliminator solution on the vehicle.  When you go back, you find this "haze".  Use The Blob Eliminator to remove the haze and then buff the vehicle immediately so it is free of the haze.  That simple...
